The Champions 31 cylinder mechanism features 5 pairs of pins, one of which operates using a magnet (patented by Mottura). The magnetic pin is attracted by a magnet located on the key itself. Once the key is removed from the cylinder, the pin returns to its original position within the cylinder housing, making it difficult to use lock picks to open the lock.
